In this video, see how the Suruacá Community in the Amazon is experiencing the benefits of connectivity for the first time.
The Suruacá Community in the Amazon is seeing the benefits of having connectivity for the first time. Children in the local school as part of the Connect to Learn project can now access the internet and take in news from all over the world. In another community, the local hospital boat the Abaré, responsible for taking care of 70 communities along the Tapajós River can now send xray and ultrasound images for consultation via the internet, to enable treatment to begin on the boat. Finally we find out how connectivity is improving the local micro-businesses, as the local bakery speaks about how customers can now phone in their orders.
So far, connectivity has been brought to over 50 villages in the Amazon, for more information please visit: Connecting the Amazon
