Smartphones in Japan became more than just mobile phones

The company comScore released the results of statistical research, according to which Japan was a country where smartphones have become the dominant class of mobile devices. While initially regular phones were the vast majority, over time the proportion of "smart" devices grew in February 2012 exceeded half of all devices. It should be noted that the "normal" phone in most cases means Japan is very advanced model, though not having a full-fledged operating system. At the same time most of the vehicles in the camp up the missing model in other markets - the leading position in the market share occupied by local brands: Sharp (23,5%), Panasonic (13,7%), Fujitsu (11,6%), NEC ( 9.8%) and Sony (7,85), which are either not available outside of Japan, or are a limited number of models. The exception is Sony. At the same time, Japan has not escaped the growing worldwide boom in sales of smartphones from Apple. Among all the iPhone smartphones account for 34.2%, representing the fastest growing their share of the OS. This was due not only to the model output iPhone 4S, but the attraction as another operator KDDI. At the same time in the first place are still on the prevalence of Android-smartphone, which accounted for 61.4%. Occupying the third place ranking machines running the Microsoft account for only 3.9%, while in November of last year was 5.7%.
