MegaFon and FGC pooled resources situation centers

Operator MegaFon and "Federal Grid Company" ("FGC") sign an agreement on information exchange and interaction between Situation and Analysis Center OAO "UES FGC" and the Federal Center for Monitoring and Management of OJSC "MegaFon". Thanks to the agreement to exchange situational centers operational and planning information for solving problems of prevention and liquidation of consequences of accidents and emergency situations (ES). Parties shall provide mutual provision of information on the projected or incurred disaster, as well as on-duty forces and means enlisted to prevent and eliminate accidents. MegaFon Situation Centre monitors the network in any region of Russia in case of emergencies. His staff in real-time monitor emergency situations and changes in load in a mobile network, which may occur due to emergencies. Data goes to the control of operational duty MegaFon, if needed, notify state agencies and regional emergency services. In turn, Situation and Analysis Center (CAC) "Federal Grid Company" provides round the clock monitoring of the network in order to optimize the technology and business processes, as well as minimize the effects of natural and manmade disasters. In September 2011 the company signed an agreement under which MegaFon build a new fiber-optic network based on electricity supplies FGC. In addition to building new lines, and MegaFon "UES FGC" to lease to each other existing telecommunications networks. Now the cooperation between the two companies will be enhanced by the interaction of their think tanks. In addition, in 2012, the company plans to deploy in the Krasnodar Territory pilot area to establish a system of professional meteoprognozirovaniya accurate. The system will be established on the basis of the project MeteoFon, which is now implemented by MegaFon in Sochi. MeteoFon involves creating a network of automatic weather stations on Russian territory. Weather station installed on the base stations of MegaFon. The resulting information can be used to prevent emergencies (fires, floods, flash floods) and the forecast for sporting events. The project is already implemented on the Olympic venues Sochi obtained the index dedicated network of the Federal Service for Rosgidromet weather, weather forecasting is in Sochi and Adler, at the Olympic sites.
