Hello everyone!
We’re coming to the end of IFA – thanks for all your questions and comments on our live content throughout the week!
As promised, we’ve pulled together a roundup of some of the popular/mutual questions below – here goes…
When will the new Xperia range be available in *specific* markets, and how much will they cost?
(As asked by Ilamparithi and a few others)
Xperia T and Xperia Tablet S launch over the next few weeks – we hope you are as excited as we are! Xperia V and Xperia J will be available in Q4.
Xperia T and Xperia V are premium smartphones and will be priced as such, and Xperia J is a more affordable proposition… but not compromising on specs, performance or looks!
We give local operators the chance to tell you about individual pricing and availability in specific markets, so please get in touch with them for more details!
Is the Xperia Tablet S Playstation Certified?
(As asked by Juan)
Yep, sure is!
What is Xperia T’s battery life like?
(As asked by one of our Xperia Product blog regulars, Marcin)
I was lucky enough to get an Xperia T to play with during IFA, and can safely say; the battery is awesome – the full rundown is as follows:
Talk time GSM/GPRS: Up to 7 hrs**
Standby time GSM/GPRS: Up to 450 hrs**
Talk time UMTS: Up to 7 hrs**
Standby time UMTS: Up to 410 hrs**
Music listening time: Up to 16 hrs**
Video playback time: Up to 5 hrs**
**According to GSM Association Battery Life Measurement Technique. Battery performance may vary depending on network conditions and configurations, and phone usage.
Why doesn’t Xperia T support LTE and have water/dust resistant features?
(As asked by Marcin and others)
Each Xperia smartphone is different and created to suit your personality, needs and creativity; they’re unique in their own right. If those are the specs for you, then the Xperia V would be the ideal smartphone!
However, we see a clear and broad demand for these features, so we’ll be taking this into consideration in the future!
Does Xperia J support NFC?
(As asked by Nika)
Xperia J does not support NFC; it is a different type of proposition – a fun, accessible Xperia smartphone for the social butterflies amongst us!
Xperia T and Xperia V support NFC (in addition to Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia sola).
Will Sony’s media applications be made available for 2011 Xperia smartphones?
(As asked by Jeeva and others)
2011 Xperia smartphones won’t receive Sony’s media applications, but all 2012 Xperia smartphones will, with respective software upgrades!
Is TV Dock compatible with Xperia S?
(Tim and others)
TV Dock is only compatible with Xperia T along with Xperia TX (a variant in certain markets), however Xperia P also has a TV dock!
Will the new NFC Xperia Smart Tags and Wireless Speaker be compatible with Xperia S?
(As asked by Greg and others)
Yep, and compatible with other NFC enabled smartphones too!
When will Xperia U receive ICS?
(Asked by a few of you ☺)
The ICS rollout for Xperia U will kick-off within the next few weeks and rollout gradually – more information to follow soon!
