Huawei has introduced a solution of UMTS Small Data Packet Storm, which allows to double the maximum number of subscribers connected to a network of mobile broadband.

As the developer of solutions, the rapid growth in popularity of smartphones and mobile broadband applications has led to increased load on the network of UMTS. After analyzing the total data traffic in the network for a certain period of time, Huawei experts found that 80% of this traffic uses less than 10 seconds, and 60% of the traffic volume requires less than 1 kbps.

This revealed one of the obstacles for the development of mobile broadband - so-called "network data packets smaller storms." Services on the basis of small data packets differ from conventional voice services, and load data at high speed.
