Huawei has introduced a solution of UMTS Small Data Packet Storm, which allows to double the maximum number of subscribers connected to a network of mobile broadband.
As the developer of solutions, the rapid growth in popularity of smartphones and mobile broadband applications has led to increased load on the network of UMTS. After analyzing the total data traffic in the network for a certain period of time, Huawei experts found that 80% of this traffic uses less than 10 seconds, and 60% of the traffic volume requires less than 1 kbps.
This revealed one of the obstacles for the development of mobile broadband - so-called "network data packets smaller storms." Services on the basis of small data packets differ from conventional voice services, and load data at high speed. When a user updates the smartphone often you are viewing a page, the total amount of traffic consumed is very small. In the wide distribution of smartphones, while connecting a large number of users of the radio interface efficiency is greatly reduced. This reduces the total available capacity of the transmission, user satisfaction and the total number of simultaneously connected.
Huawei has developed solutions that can withstand the "network of small data packet storms" to increase satisfaction with services smartphone users. The solution of Huawei Small Data Packet Storm is capable of doubling the number of concurrent users of smartphones in the same network. The solution is introduced into commercial operation in Canada, Europe, Hong Kong and other regions, giving operators the opportunity to improve their business.
