Senior Vice President of Apple's development of hardware platforms to retire


Apple has announced that Bob Mansfield, Senior Vice President of Apple's development of hardware platforms, is retiring, and his duties for several months will pass to Dan Richio, vice president of Apple's hardware design iPad. The whole team on the development of hardware platforms will report to Mansfield to his care.

As senior vice president for development of hardware platforms, Mansfield led the development of hardware the Mac platform since 2005, with 2010 - the development of hardware iPhone and iPod, as well as the development of the hardware platform iPad since its inception. Mansfield joined Apple in 1999, when Apple acquired Raycer Graphics, where he was Vice President of Engineering. Mansfield received a bachelor's degree BSEE from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982.

Richio currently holds the post of vice president of hardware development iPad, and plays an important role in the creation of all modifications iPad from Apple, starting with the first generation iPad. Richio joined Apple in 1998 as vice president of product development and has become one of the key authors of a majority of Apple's hardware platform during its operation. Dan received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1986.
