Polish operator Netia Group renews and expands Managed Services Agreement with Ericsson
About 190 additional Netia Group employees will join Ericsson
The four-year Managed Services contract includes maintenance and management of networks
Netia Group, one of Poland's largest providers of fixed-line telecommunications services, has signed a four-year Managed Services Agreement with Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC).
Under the contract, Ericsson is responsible for the maintenance and management of Netia Group's networks, as well as supporting the provision of services to Netia Group's residential and business users. The renewed and expanded contract covers the same range of cooperation as the previous agreement, while expanding its geographical reachto include the Telefonia Dialog and Crowley telecommunication networks acquired by Netia Group in December 2011.
The agreement covers two main areas: services provision, and the transfer of contracts concerning employees, assets and agreements of Netia Group. About 190 additional Netia Group employees will be transferred to Ericsson Poland.
Valter D'Avino, Vice President and Head of Managed Services, Ericsson, says: "The contract we signed with Netia in 2006 was one of the first worldwide fixed-line Ericsson contracts. This is the second time we prolonged this managed-services partnership, and it is a clear acknowledgement from Netia of the work we have done together to provide high-quality, unified services to Netia Group's entire user base, including the users added through Netia's recent acquisition of operators Telefonia Dialog and Crowley."
Miroslaw Godlewski, President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer, Netia, says: "We are happy our partnership with Ericsson has just been extended. We believe this contract will deliver even more effective and integrated handling and management of Netia Group's networks and service delivery."
