MTS PrivatBank presented Russia's first solution to receive cash payments from mobile devices

MTS retail network and banking group "Privat" announced the launch of a joint project to promote the Russian market mini-terminals iPay, allowing to use the mobile phone as a terminal for receiving payments.

According to the companies, a unique for the Russian market iPay technology allows businesses and individuals to accept payment for goods and services with credit cards Visa and Mastercard through smart phones and other mobile devices with a mini-terminal.

The device is a reader in a plastic case measuring 1.5 x 1.5 cm, equipped with a chip to read data from the tape of a credit card.

Mini-terminal is connected via a standard audio jack 3.5 mm headphone and works with a computer, a laptop, tablet or smartphone based on OS Android, MacOS (iOS) and Windows. Activation mini-terminal and payment transactions are made by credit card via a mobile app iPay, which can be downloaded for free in the store App Store, Google Play, as well as on the website Privatbank.

To interact with iPay on user's mobile device must be configured to access the Internet. Commission for accepting payments through technology iPay on cards Privat is 1.5% if paying with cards of other Russian and foreign banks - 2.7%.
