Telecommunications operator "VimpelCom Ltd." presented its financial and operating results for the 2nd quarter of 2012, where the basic parameters are as follows:

Positive trends continued in the 2nd quarter of 2012
Strong revenue growth of 8% year to year, a significant increase in the segment data
EBITDA increased 12% year to year, the EBITDA margin rose by 1.6 points and reached 43.1%, being the highest figure over the past 5 quarters
Implementation of programs to improve operational efficiency, in which the end of 2012 is planned to achieve savings of $ 5 billion, is ahead of schedule
Under the LTE-derived license service is scheduled for launch in 2013
Key achievements of the second quarter:

Consolidated revenue grew 8% year on year, amounting to 70.3 billion, mainly due to revenue growth in the mobile segment.
Revenue in the mobile segment increased by 7% year to year as a result of use of voice and additional services, as well as increased revenue from sales of customer premises equipment.
Revenue growth in the fixed segment was 14% year on year, mainly due to the continued growth of revenue in the segment of fixed broadband by 41% year to year.
EBITDA rose 12% year on year due to revenue growth and cost optimization.
EBITDA margin was 43.1% and rose by 1.6 percentage points compared to Q2 2011, mainly as a result of projects under the program to improve operational efficiency (Operational Excellence), mentioned above.
The subscriber base in the mobile segment grew by 1% year on year and totaled 55.7 million, the number of subscribers in the mobile broadband segment has grown by 5% year to year and amounted to 2.5 million subscriber base in the segment of fixed broadband access over 2 million , which accounted for 35% growth year to year.
The ratio of capital expenditures to revenue in Q2 2012 was 13%, in line with our plans for the construction and modernization of the network. The ratio of capital expenditures to revenue over the past 12 months remained at 21%. The company plans to continue to invest in the development of its own 3G-network and reach parity with its main competitors to cover the population 3G-network in major cities in 43 regions by 2013. Due to the fact that the Company became the owner of LTE-license, "VimpelCom" is in the process of finalizing a plan to invest in the development of LTE-network.
