4G from MegaFon starts in St. Petersburg on August 31

Now MegaFon announced that on August 31 - the first of the operators "big three" - will provide access to the fourth-generation LTE technology-based services to its customers in St. Petersburg. 4G services now provided by MegaFon in regions where more than 15% of population Russia (Moscow and Moscow region, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Samara, Ufa, Krasnodar region, Sochi), the company said. Moreover, its network provides a "seamless" transition to 3G and 2G standards when leaving the coverage area of 4G. According to the operator, by the end of 2012 this figure will reach 30%.
