The Music Unlimited service Android smartphone and tablet applications received updates today and we’re sure you’re going to love the new great features!
For tablet users, the Music Unlimited service Android tablet app update (V1.4) delivers Offline Playback, giving users the ability to enjoy music even when a 3G or Wi-Fi connection isn’t available, or when they want to conserve battery life or curb data usage.
If you’re a subscriber to the Music Unlimited service and want to enable offline playback on your Android tablet, simply update your app to v1.4 through the Google Play market, restart the app, and follow these simple steps:
Go to My Library > Playlists
Tap the Options button for the playlist you want to have available offline
Select “Available Offline”
The playlist will begin downloading and the icon will change from spinning green arrows to a solid green image when all the songs in that playlist have been downloaded. Depending on your Internet connection speed, the download may take a bit of time, so please be patient.
Once your playlist has finished downloading, just select “Switch to Offline Mode” in your Android hardware menu. You can now browse by album, artist, song or Playlist and play back music even when you’re not connected!
Also new is the Music Unlimited Android Mobile app v1.4 update. The big new feature you’ll love with this update is access to your “My Channels” which gives you the ability to create and control customized radio stations built around a favorite artist.
Available to both Basic and Premium Music Unlimited subscribers, the “My Channels” feature enhances the music discovery process by analyzing and categorizing musical traits of the more than 15 million tracks available globally and automatically populates a station with tracks related to the selected artist.
“MY Channels” is also available through the Music Unlimited service apps on PS3, PCs and Mac computers, and 2010 or later models of connected BRAVIA HDTVs, as well as Blu-ray Disc™ players and home theater systems. Look for it on other Music Unlimited service-compatible devices soon!
