Metropolitan Branch of OJSC "MegaFon" presented the results of testing of its own network in Moscow. Comparative measurements were carried out to assess the quality and coverage of 2G and 3G, the time to establish a voice connection and data transfer speeds in 2G and 3G. During the comparative measurements were carried more than 6,000 test calls, the total mileage in the city of Moscow was 2,500 km. The total test time - more than 75 hours, measuring the speed of data transfer have been conducted in 20 locations. Company believes that in May this year the success of the establishment of voice connections closer to 99%. Average speed in 2G on measurements was 115 kbit / s, and the networks 3G - more than 3 Mbit / s. Time to establish a voice connection on 3G was about three seconds, and the networks 2G - even less than 3 seconds. Continuing and expanding the network 2G/3G: new base stations last week, in addition to the Moscow, earned in the towns and villages near Moscow, for example, in Noginsk, Balashikha, Serpukhov, Moscow, Istra, Krasnogorsk, Mytishchi, Zvenigorod, Dzerzhinsk, and in Odintsovo, Lyubertsy, Noginsk, Ramenskoye, Shatura, Solnechnogorsk and other areas.
