We have previously written about the plans of Sony to update the firmware Xperia smartphone line in 2011 to version Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It was believed that a new version of the operating system will receive, including gaming and smart phone Sony Xperia Play, however, now have new information on this subject and they are disappointing. The company said that the model of Sony Xperia Play will not be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will remain on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
According to the Sony, the company tested the new firmware, but concluded that it does not fit well with the gaming device capabilities. Clarifies that the Ice Cream Sandwich version of the more demanding in terms of hardware than the Gingerbread, it requires a more powerful processor, more RAM, and so on. Apparently, Sony Xperia Play has failed to provide the necessary capacity and performance of the game, along with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is not earned as needed. At the very least, Sony does not satisfy the results and she decided to leave the device on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This applies to all versions of the smartphone, including the U.S., sold at Verizon and AT & T.
