Company OmniVision Technologies introduced two new 1/2 inch, 3-sensor - OV16820 and OV16825. These solutions provide the capture is really high quality 16-megapixel photos and video with a resolution Quad Full High Definition (QFHD, 3840 x 2160 pixels) at 60 frames per second. Moreover, it is provided and shooting video with a resolution of 4608 x 3456 pixels, but the speed is only 30 frames per second. OmniVision OV16820 and OV16825 built on the architecture of OmniBSI-2 1.34 micron, the first of them is designed for digital cameras / camcorders, and the second - for high-performance smart phones.
For new modules all the features including noise reduction, work with the format of RAW, the number of frames per second, image size, exposure, location, crop, etc., are programmed via SCCB (serial camera control bus). Model OV16820 will be available in the form of a ceramic matrix pads (CLGA), and OmniVision OV16825 - in the form of a crystal (RW / COB). So far only available samples and mass production will start in the fourth quarter of this year.
