MTS launches LTE network in Moscow

The mobile operator MTS announced the launch of LTE network test operation in the Central Administrative District of Moscow.

As the operator of its base stations support the seamless transition to other standards for data transmission (GSM and 3G) and data rates up to 100 Mbit / s by using a fiber-optical transport networks that MTS Group develops the project on reconstruction of the telecommunications MGTS Moscow-based infrastructure technology GPON.

The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Communications has issued a license for the provision of MTS services in LTE networks in Moscow and Moscow region in early 2012.
