MegaFon will launch LTE in Sochi, the official

We have already mentioned that the operators Rostelecom and MegaFon will have the frequencies for LTE network construction in Sochi during the 2014 Olympics. Now one of these companies has confirmed this information. MegaFon has announced that by the decision of the State Commission for Radio Frequencies (SCRF), he highlighted the development of radio frequency bands for mobile broadband LTE standard for communication during the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. MegaFon telecommunications as a general partner of the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014 in partnership with Rostelecom was to use on a parity basis frequency resource in the ranges 791-862 MHz, 2300-2400 MHz and 2500-2690 MHz to the end of 2016 for the construction of LTE networks in the Krasnodar Territory in the interests of the organization and the Olympic Games. With regard to the obligations of the Government of the Russian Federation for the frequency resource of the Olympic Games and in accordance with the Contract with the Organizing Committee of OJSC "MegaFon" and OJSC "Rostelecom" due to its own telecommunications infrastructure to provide telecommunications services using the latest technologies, including standard, LTE, on the whole During the preparation and organization of the Games. According to the MegaFon, the results of experimental studies based on the LTE network showed that the currently available radio frequency resources in the Krasnodar Territory is significantly restricted, so the identified spectrum in certain bands are not enough, not only for the two, but for one general partner, especially in view of heavy traffic on the network during the Games. So now appropriate to speak not about the division of frequency resources between companies and the joint activities of its release. MegaFon plans to deploy multiband LTE network using all ranges: 791-862 MHz, 2300-2400 MHz and 2500-2690 MHz.
