"Parental Control" on "Kaspersky Lab" for Android and iOS


"Kaspersky Lab" introduced a beta version of the application "Parental Control" to mobile devices based on Android operating system and iOS. New solutions are designed to protect children from inappropriate content on the Internet, and a version for Android also provides the ability to control the use of software on their smart phones and tablets. The product allows you to set restrictions on access to potentially dangerous categories of Web sites, such as resources for adults, portals, content related to drugs, violence, gambling and so on. Prohibited or malicious sites are blocked automatically. The product uses cloud system of categorization of websites in the Kaspersky Security Network (KSN). In addition, the "Parental Control" allows you to allow or restrict the use of these or other applications installed on the device. Access to change the settings is password protected. The product is compatible with smartphones and tablet running Android 2.2 and above.

Product for iOS - SafeBrowser - block unwanted sites. Content filtering by analogy with the solution for Android cloud system is provided in the Kaspersky Security Network. With the default settings iOS parents can do SafeBrowser the only browser that can be used by a child. "Parental Control" for Android is available on the Android Market c February 28, 2012, and for iOS SafeBrowser appear in the App Store in March 2012. Both products are free of charge until the end of beta testing.
