Tele2 has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks solutions for testing LTE technology at 1800 MHz

The mobile operator Tele2 has announced a contract with one of the world's largest suppliers of infrastructure and network equipment Nokia Siemens Networks for the supply of network infrastructure for the construction of a pilot area for testing LTE technology at 1800 MHz.

As stated by the operator, testing LTE 1800 is designed to prove in practice to effectively use GSM networks and LTE at the same frequencies without compromising the quality of communication. Earlier, Tele2 has provided data from studies commissioned by the operator, as well as reporting the world's leading manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, which speak of the possibility of simultaneous operation of GSM and LTE in the range of 1800 MHz.

The technique was developed for future testing of FSUE "Research Institute of Radio" (NIIR), Tele2 will be tested in close collaboration with the Institute.

For the construction of a pilot area Tele2 has selected equipment company Nokia Siemens Networks, including energy-efficient and compact base stations Flexi Multiradio. This equipment provides a high capacity mobile broadband network, and provides a smooth transition from GSM to LTE. In addition, Nokia Siemens Networks will supply an operator solution to Evolved Packet Core (EPC), which is part of the Liquid Core architecture and manages the connections of broadband subscribers mobile data to the Internet, private network operators, or corporate networks.
