Pure White BlackBerry Bold 9900 Smartphone Comes to SFR Customers


France - SFR and Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) announced the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9900 in Pure White will be available February 7, 2012 to SFR customers through the SFR online store (www.sfr.fr). All other SFR points of sale are expected to have the attractive new model from mid-February 2012. As a limited time launch promotion from SFR, the Pure White model will be available for €49,90* with an Edition Spéciale Carré Absolu International service plan. The new model will also be available to SFR Business Team** customers.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is the thinnest BlackBerry® smartphone yet at only 10.5mm and the first to offer the perfect union of a high performance full QWERTZ keyboard with a highly responsive touch display integrated within the iconic BlackBerry Bold design. The new handset features powerful specifications including 8 GB of on-board memory, expandable up to 40 GB and a 5.0 MP camera that supports HD video recording. The handset comes pre-loaded with the Wikitude World Browser to take advantage of augmented reality capabilities, as well as additional premium personal and productivity apps out of the box. The new BlackBerry Bold 9900 also includes built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications), a new technology that is enabling many new and exciting capabilities, including the ability to make mobile payments, pair with NFC-enabled accessories and read SmartPoster tags with a simple tap of the smartphone.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is powered by the new BlackBerry® 7 operating system and introduces a next generation BlackBerry browser that delivers a significantly faster, more fluid web browsing experience which is among the best in the industry. Additional enhancements to the browser include optimized zooming and panning for smoother web navigation and optimized HTML5 performance for incredible gaming and video experiences.

Users will also have access to thousands of applications on BlackBerry® App World™, including Facebook, Twitter and Allociné. The main SFR apps will also be available under a dedicated category, including SFR TV (real-time TV on the phone, via 3G/3G+ and Wi-Fi®), SFR GPS, SFR Wi-Fi (access to 4 million Wi-Fi hotspots), and SFR Mon Compte (My Account). Customers can also select to have any apps they purchase from BlackBerry App World conveniently added to their SFR invoice.
