MTS introduces a unique logistics system SIM-cards and connection fees

The mobile operator MTS announced that in partnership with Evolving Systems, Inc. begins the introduction of a unique solution for the Russian market for dynamic activation of SIM-cards (Dynamic SIM Allocation Solution, DSA), which will allow MTS to introduce a single universal SIM-card for all regions of Russia and to simplify the process of connecting to their customers.

With the launch of solutions for the dynamic activation of SIM-cards (DSA), MTS will be able to choose a number from the total available capacity in the home region, not only from a limited pool room in the cabin. To select the number and rate will be sufficient to insert a new SIM-card into the phone and specify a "home" region, with the SIM-card can be purchased in any city of Russia. Customers can also independently of MTS with a convenient menu to choose a tariff plan and additional services at the time of activation of SIM-card in the mobile phone.

Starting solutions for DSA-MTS, as claimed by the operator, will significantly reduce its logistics costs cards, maintaining the required level of inventory and update packages in the event of a change of tariff lines. MTS will be able to abandon costly pre-sale preparation of SIM-cards, including those of the prior appropriation of certain specific SIM-card phone number, rate and customization SIM-card for a specific network architecture of the region.

Universal SIM-card will provide more efficient satisfaction of the demand, especially in remote regions of Russia, quickly bring to market new tariff proposals simultaneously in all regions of Russia, and will, if necessary, move the SIM-card between the regions.

MTS plans to complete the integration of the DSA with existing IT systems of the company and begin commercial operation of new solutions to the end of 2012.
