Intel and Micron introduced the world's first 128 Gbit NAND flash modules

Of Intel Corporation and Micron Technology announced the creation of a new benchmark in technology NAND flash memory modules, producing the world's first 128-Gbit MLC (multilevel-cell - «multi-level cell") modules produced by the 20-nm process technology. In addition, the company announced the start of mass production of 64-gigabit NAND modules, manufactured by the same process technology.

New from Intel and Micron, in their words, satisfies the standard specifications for high-speed ONFI 3.0, reaching speeds of data transmission 333 MT / sec (megatransfers per second), and providing end users more cost-effective, compact and fast solid-state solution, which can be used in smartphones, tablets and high-capacity solid-state drives (SSD drives).

The first samples submitted a 128-Gigabit Ethernet modules will be available starting in January next year, and their mass production scheduled for the first half of 2012.
