Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 demonstrates the new way to create and design at Vogue Fashion’s Night Out
Collaborating at Vogue Fashion’s Night Out 2012, Samsung Electronics, Vogue UK, and British designer Nicholas Kirkwood, provided attendees more than just a night to celebrate the latest fashion trends. This year, at the Samsung Stage, Nicholas Kirkwood brought to life the evolving role technology now plays in the fashion industry, providing a live demonstration of how the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 aids his ideation process. The crowd was also treated to an exclusive reveal of two Limited Edition cases, designed by Nicholas, exclusively for the new Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 tablet, providing an exclusive first look at how Nicholas Kirkwood’s signature style fuses with Samsung’s commitment to fresh innovation.
Using the S-Pen and the S-Note applications, Nicholas offered the crowds a first-hand look at the creative capability of the GALAXY Note 10.1 by sketching designs on-stage and showcasing how the multi-screen function facilitates the evolution from inspiration to collection.
Presenting the new GALAXY Note 10.1 as a must-have tool for creative professionals, Nicholas commented:
“Being able to work wherever I am isn’t just useful, it’s become a necessity. As my label has grown the demand for me to travel abroad on business has increased. With the GALAXY Note 10.1 I have the ability to capture ideas, sketch in detail and then share my thoughts wherever I am in the world.”
Also at the Samsung Stage, Nicholas announced the lucky winner of the Samsung ‘Fashion Moments’ competition where lucky winner Amy-Leigh Ellis from Newport, South Wales won a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood shoes and five runners up won themselves a GALAXY Note 10.1, a Nicholas Kirkwood Limited Edition GALAXY Note 10.1 case and the chance to meet the designer in person.
Ginnie Fraser, Acting Executive Retail Editor from British Vogue said: "'Fashion's Night Out 2012 was bigger and more widely celebrated than ever before. The Samsung Stage provided a new and exciting backdrop to the event and Nicholas Kirkwood's interview with Emma Elwick-Bates, Vogue's Market Editor, introduced the new Galaxy Note 10.1 to the fashion audience on Bond Street. Nicholas's drawing of a shoe design, using the S Pen and the Note 10.1, brought to life the idea that fashion design and technology go hand in hand and thus form such a valuable part of the creative process for so many designers today.”
Christine Cho, Director of Global Mobile Marketing at Samsung Electronics, says “We are seeing amazing synergies between innovative technology like the GALAXY Note 10.1 and the creation of new fashion designs and ideas. Partnering with two of the most well-renowned leaders in British fashion, Vogue and Nicholas Kirkwood, has demonstrated how the GALAXY Note 10.1 can enable creativity, productivity, and personalized communication throughout the creative process. We are excited by how the GALAXY Note 10.1 can inspire the exceptional designers of today and the future.”
Cementing its commitment to fashion, Samsung provided fashion lovers attending Vogue Fashion’s Night Out the opportunity to experience the GALAXY Note 10.1 at a custom-made pop-up Samsung GALAXY Studio. Fashionistas sketched, designed, and explored their personal creativity using the features showcased by Nicholas, including the GALAXY Note 10.1’s multi-screen capabilities and unique S-Pen, both of which signify a huge step forward in terms of what a mobile device can offer. Multi-tasking has never been easier, as the screen can be split in half and allow two applications to run side-by-side - useful for taking notes or sketching whilst at the same time watching a video or surfing the internet.
Top fashion stores including Stella McCartney, Lacoste and Russell & Bromley also hosted the GALAXY Note 10.1 on the night, giving their customers the opportunity to get to grips with its functions and features, as well as leaving their creative mark on the digital S-Note guestbook.
The GALAXY Note 10.1 is available to buy now in Europe and the USA and will soon roll out to other countries globally.
