MTS enters the market of fixed-line services of the Republic of Mari El

Telecommunications operator MTS announced the acquisition of a private investor 100% of the share capital of "Intercom", the leader in cable TV and broadband Internet access Volga city's second largest city of the Republic of Mari El. The deal amounted to 90 million rubles, the operator is no net debt.

It is reported that the company "Intercom" is 99% of the cable TV market and 67% market share of fixed broadband Internet Volga. Operator's network is built on technology FTTB (Fiber-To-The-Building, «FTTH") and covers 99% of the housing stock of the city storeys above three storeys.

Financial results of LLC "Intercom" will be consolidated in the accounts of OJSC "MTS" on 24 August 2012.
